3AM – Come Over

3amlogo

3AM is an electronic music duo consisting of Canadian singer-songwriter Liz Coyles (vocals) and Los Angeles based songwriter and film composer Matthew Puckett (keyboards, guitars). Originally from London, Ontario and New York City, respectively – Coyles and Puckett met in LA and started writing in the winter of 2013. Their shared love of bands like Broods and London Grammar led them to write songs with dark themes of loss and broken relationships. When Liz had to return home to Canada, the two continued to write and record long distance via Skype. Despite the agony of countless dropped calls and consistent bad
connections the two dedicated themselves to writing the songs that will become their debut EP release (TBD).

Coyles’ vocals are influenced by a range of classic singers from the late Etta James to Adele and U.K artists like The Kooks and Lily Allen. Her voice is soft yet soulful with a touch of sadness that sustains the moodiness of 3AMʼs songs. Puckett’s production style comes from being a die-hard fan of Massive Attack, Burial and newcomers like CLAIRE and Little Dragon. Both Liz and Matthew have had successes on their own. Puckett has worked with artists such as The Mowgliʼs, Beginners and The Rescues and recently wrote the theme song, “Skyline” for the current ABC Series NY MED. Coyles is an award winning songwriter who has had her solo songs, such as “Butterflies”, featured in film and TV.

Currently, the duo are in Los Angeles at Puckettʼs Beachwood Canyon studio finishing up the recording for the EP. The groupʼs video for the single “Come Over” will premiere in the fall.
