Dakini Star & Action Paxton Blurr Genre Lines in “DRIIIP”

Bay Area artist Dakini Star has just released her newest project, a collaboration with producer and DJ Action Paxton titled “DRIIIP.” This hypnotic and empowering release boasts deep bass, meticulous production, and enchanting vocals that blend effortlessly with the detailed beats of Action Paxton’s production. This genre-bending duo is known for their ability to effortlessly fuse hip-hop, electronic, and bass elements with organic instruments, creating a sublime and intentional sound.

The music video for “DRIIIP” is a journey into the seductive power of the female voice, with lyrics dripping with an enchanting flow and hypnotic beats. The video, produced by Micah BlackLight, features a futuristic and sexy vibe, with elements of mermaids and badass warriors mixed in. BlackLight used three different software programs to create the video. Although he is not a trained animator, he saw it as an opportunity to experiment and bring his unique vision to the project.

“DRIIIP” marks the second collaboration between Dakini Star and Action Paxton, and the record champions female empowerment with its lyrics and seductive vocals. Action Paxton is a producer, drummer, and DJ with credits with artists including Juice WRLD, Kamaiyah, and Shock G. His musical reach extends beyond the studio. He is a member of creative acts such as Jazz Mafia, Kung Fu Vampire, and WolfHawkJaguar.
