“Get Away” is the first single of the Damia’s E.P. The laid-back feel of the song allows you to follow the songs story effortlessly as she talks about the two sides of human character. Opening with the lyric “You’ve been on your best behavior/ holy feet another savior” the singer songwriter describes the everyday struggle we have in trying to balance being true to ourselves while trying not to compromise ourselves just to get ahead in life. Damia describes her music as a tapestry of events, each intertwined to form one long “human story” and Get Away indeed tells that “human story” aptly.
